What is Thai Foot Massage?
Thai Foot Massage is a massage of lower legs and feet. It is performed with hands and special wooden sticks and involves rubbing, kneading, stretching and vibration techniques.
How does it work?
Thai Foot Massage works by manipulating of the pressure points and energy lines which produces a highly therapeutic effect.
Energy lines correspond to the meridians of Chinese medicine and in Thailand they are called “Sen” lines. The Thai believe that there are 72,000 Sen line; 10 are considered to be principal Sen lines, through which life energy, prana or Chi flows. It is believed that blockages within this flow result in pain, illness ans disease.
Pressure points are the areas along Sen lines which correspond to various internal organs.
By working on energy lines and pressure points, blocked energy can be released and and functions balanced – much like the practice of Acupuncture, Acupressure and Shiatsu.
Thai Foot Massage can be effective in relieving various dysfunctions and disorders; but it is also a wonderful treatment to promote overall health, increase energy and to provide a general state of wellbeing.
